This Theory About Lily Potter And Molly Weasley Will Cut You Deep

Another day, another Harry Potter fan theory, this one that at least has some gravitas.

Pointing out a “full circle connection” between Harry’s mother - Lily Potter, who died to protect him - and his “surrogate mother”, Molly Weasley, Reddit user RGRDBB2X draws upon a moment during the Battle of Hogwarts.

Molly had just killed Bellatrix Lestrange (who was going to kill her daughter Ginny Weasley), so Voldemort turned on her, hoping to get his revenge. Harry cast a shield charm between the two, stopping Voldemort from hurting Molly.

This harks back to when Lily (in the mother role) shielded Harry:

“The last person that Voldemort attacks before his and Harry’s first encounter is Lily Potter, the mother Harry lost and never knew.

The last person Voldemort attacks before his and Harry’s final encounter is Molly Weasley, the mother Harry found and always wanted…..

This time though, Harry is able to pay forward to his “second” mother the same act his real mother did for him and save her from Voldemort’s attack, the same way Lily saved him.”

So in the same way that Lily protected Harry, Harry protected Molly, who had become the mother he never had.
