Rihanna Just Tattooed A Drake Tribute On Herself
Rihanna and Drake are either actually a really sweet couple, or a pair of celebrities determined to milk this wannabe romance for all it’s worth - because Riri has now gone as far as permanently etching a tribute to Drake on her skin.
Last night, Drake brought Rihanna out on stage at his performance in Miami and then the pair went on to a club later in the evening. It’s sad, but I will admit that while covering that yesterday I did notice the strategic piece of tape around Rihanna’s ankle. And the nosy part of me thought ‘hmmm, I wonder what that is.’

But, only a day later we have our answer, a shark tattoo.
To the uninitiated, there’s nothing that exciting about a camoflage shark tattoo, but to those of us who are obsessed with Rihake(?) or work in trending news and have to write about it, it’s quite a big deal.
Grab a drink because I’m about to drop some knowledge.

The current working theory, whch has been backed up by mysterious internet ‘sources’, is that Drake took Rihanna for a midnight date in an Aquarium in Toronto. He bought her a stuffed camouflage shark (as you do) and she has been seen carrying it around since.
It even made an appearance in that cutesy kissing instagram, but no one noticed (Exhibit B):

Vanity Fair got in touch with the artist responsible for the tat, Keith ‘Bang Bang’ McCurdy, to see if he would let slip any details.
Although he refused to confirm the meaning behind the tattoo, he did admit that Rihanna flew him to Miami especially for the occasion and the tattoo took place in Drake’s dressing room while the singer was warming up for his show.
“The significance is personal. That’s really all I can say. I’ve seen many people guessing the meaning online, but it’s not my place to share publicly. I will say, I’ve made many tattoos for Rihanna and this one was my favorite!
I have never been so close to the work both artists put in. I’ve actually never seen Rih after a concert, so it was special in that way. It was especially significant being in Drake’s dressing room and listening to him warm up and sing, but I was the only one there. That was an incredible memory I won’t forget.”
Talking about the design, he explains Rihanna told him before he got on the plane out there that he would be doing a ‘camouflage shark’.
“The description she gave me was a camouflage shark, so I designed three different versions while on the flight down and she ended up liking one.”
There we go. Count yourself educated.
