‘Raven’ From That Classic CBBC Show Looks Seriously Different Now
When you’re only eleven years old I’m pretty sure there’s no such thing as a shit TV show. You’re so wide eyed and impressionable that you can’t help but find yourself awed by shows about kids being cool and taking on mythical challenges.
This is where ‘Raven’ comes in. There was one badass guy who was the raven, who helped the kids on their quest and awarded them golden rings. They had golden feathers, which equated to their lives, there was beautifully terrible CGI used and the raven would often use his cane to shoot lightning strikes at things.
Here’s an episode, in case you had forgotten it’s glory:
And you know that miraculous thing that happens to people when time passes? That happened to the Raven. That and he ditched the weird feather cloak and painted on goatee.
Good move, Mr Raven guy.
It turns out, the Raven was not a mythical being, and he also wasn’t even a raven enthusiast or an outdoor adventure instructor - he is an actor called James Mackenzie. Since being the Raven, obviously the highlight of his acting career, he has since been in Dani’s House with Tracy Beaker actress Dani Harmer and various other shows.
He currently has a role in River City a BBC Scotland soap opera, and he looks pretty different to when we all looked up to him as the Raven:
