People Outraged By Distasteful 9/11 Themed Mattress Commercial
A San Antonio mattress company has come under fire for posting an incredibly disrespectful TV commercial, asking, “what’s better to remember 9/11 than with a twin tower sale?” .
In the commercial, three employees can be seen in front of two towers of mattresses. The female employee pushes the two male employees into the towers, knocking them over, before looking back to the camera and saying, “never forget”.
The commercial was quickly removed from the store’s social media accounts, but it has been uploaded to YouTube by somebody who recorded it on their phone:
Understandably, this has prompted an outcry of outrage, and the owner of the company has issued an apology:
This hasn’t stopped people from being furious.
People have also realised that the woman in the video is the owner’s daughter:
The store’s review page is also awash with angry comments, with many people calling for a complete boycott of the shop.
Cherise Bonnano - the female employee in the video - told TV station WJLA, “it was stupid, it was a stupid idea that we sent out and we apologize for our stupidity and we really hope that you forgive us for what we have done.”
We’re doubtful.
