Lady Gaga Has Dropped Her New Dance Anthem ‘Perfect Illusion’
After three years of waiting, Lady Gaga’s finally back with her new, club inspired song, Perfect Illusion.
The 30-year-old hadn’t released anything since her fourth album, Artpop, in November of 2013 and, since then, fans had been waiting with baited breath. Now with a Grammy under her belt, an Oscar nomination and a stint in American Horror Story later, she’s ready to wow us again by dropping this high-intensity club-pop anthem.
And she’s in good company with the song production, having created it with the help of Mark Ronson, Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker, and BloodPop. Together, the four of them also produced the track.
It’s got quite a Euro-pop clubby sound to it…
Speaking of the track during an appearance at New York City’s iHeartRadio Music Summit in August, Lady Gaga said:
“The song is about modern ecstasy… We found our sweet, simple, rage-y way of saying it, I get this sick adrenaline rush every time I hear it.”
“It’s up to her: It’s her album, it’s her creative process, it’s her world, and I’ll be happy for her whatever way she takes it,” said RedOne (who recorded eight tracks with Lady Gaga for her new album) to PEOPLE. “It’s a mixture of classic music and futuristic, too – I didn’t want to go too far from what she is. We kept it [similar to] what Gaga is, what she’s done all these years. It’s special.”
