Katie Hopkins Just Got Tear Gassed
Just a year after she drew Nazi comparisons by calling migrants trying to board lorries into the UK, “a plague of feral humans”, and “cockroaches”, Daily Mail columnist has Katie Hopkins visited the Calais Jungle Camp, “looking for the good”.
According to her, she didn’t find any (how surprising that she’d think that), but she did manage to get herself tear-gassed.
In an article recounting her experiences, she described how her cameraman had his gear stolen, and how they got tear gassed by police trying to keep migrants from getting to the lorries.
(You can see a video of Katie running towards the tear gas below):
She later said:
“There is no option to tough out tear gas. I just tried and I failed miserably. I think sometimes that I’m tougher than I am. It really knocks you back.”
Katie and her team were reportedly helped by charity Care4Calais, while various refugees helped her photographer retrieve the items that he had had stolen.
It sounds like whatever she might like us to believe, Katie did find “some good” after all.
