Dom Joly’s ‘Trigger Happy TV’ Is Coming Back

You know those god-awful pranksters you get on Facebook and YouTube that clearly use plants, use obvious jokes, just seem like mean people and, for some reason, are always topless? You’ve Got Dom Joly’s Trigger Happy TV to thank for that - the only difference is that he was actually good and he mostly kept his clothes on.

So you’ll potentially be delighted to know that Trigger Happy TV is coming back!

From the 26th of September, you’ll be able to hit up All 4 (on the internet) and watch the 8-part series - all at once, if you want to.

Perhaps one of the most notorious pranks from the original show is the giant mobile phone and, yes, that will be returning but with a more modern twist - the giant smartphone. Seems obvious but, if anyone can make it work, it’s Dom Joly.

Another great thing about Trigger Happy TV was that it had a pretty wicked soundtrack and, as Joly has it, that’s coming back…

We can also expect to see an angry cyclist and a big vape. Relevant.

Speaking of the new series, Joly said:

“Once again I was keen to use Trigger Happy to target some of the most frustrating, peculiar, prominent aspects of modern life and give them a surreal twist.

I’ve watched the hidden camera industry boom since Trigger Happy TV re-invented the format back in the early 2000s.

But with a few notable exceptions, I’ve found most of the genre remarkably uninspiring.

I’m hoping viewers will find Trigger Happy refreshing and lift the genre away from what is often staged or faked.“
