This Oddly Believable Fan Theory Suggests Snoke Is Boba Fett
So you’ve probably read the title and gone “Jeez man (Travolta style), The Force Awakens came out ages ago. Let it go! Also that’s a stupid theory”. But hear me (redditor TheReturnOfBobaFett) out…
Supreme Leader Snoke is Boba Fett, and Rey is the daughter of Leia and Han. To get to this conclusion, TRoBF first compared Rey’s story to that of Anastasia
Anyone remember the not Disney animated feature that was the most incredible not Disney animated feature from the 90’s “Anastasia”?
If you’ve never seen the film, allow me to describe it for you.
-
A child helplessly watches as a means of transportation carries away the only family she has left.
-
Years later on the verge of adulthood, the child has been under the care of an abusive authority figure.
-
The girl longs to leave the place but due to circumstance can not.
-
The girl longingly watches a ship depart the place she is stuck.
-
The girl rescues a helpless character and reluctantly allows it to follow her.
-
This leads to the girl meeting a young man desperate to escape his past.
-
The girl finally leaves the place she’s been stuck for so long.
-
The girl is abducted by the villain, the young man pursues and fights for her freedom, ending in him unconscious and the girl fearing for his life.
-
The girl summons a power within her she didn’t know she had and retrieves the villain’s weapon before he does, much to the surprise of the villain.
-
The girl is reunited with her family but leaves again to embrace her destiny.
That’s dangerously similar to what happens to Rey and even George Lucas’s son, Jett, tweeted about the similarities. Lucas may not have anything to do with Star Wars anymore but bear in mind that JJ Abrams is a family friend…
Anastasia and the force awakens have strikingly similar stories.

So where does Snoke come into this? Anastasia starts when the bad guy of the piece harbours a resentment for a family who crossed him. When applied to Star Wars, who might resent the Solo tribe (assuming Rey is Han’s daughter)? That’s right, Boba Fett. During Return of the Jedi, Han collides with Fett which ends up with the bounty hunter being “eaten” by the Sarlacc pit.
Snoke makes it clear that he’s familiar with Solo in The Force Awakens when he mentions the Falcon and says “Han Solo” with such derision. Falling into the Sarlacc pit would also explain who Snoke’s face got all messed up.
So Snoke/Fett planned to corrupt the Solo family by arranging for their daughter to be kidnapped and killed. However the kidnapper couldn’t go through with the killing and so stranded her in the outer rim, instead.
That would also explain why Leia went to hug Rey instead of Chewie after the killing of Han. Her son’s just killed her true love and then a girl who’s the same age as your long-lost daughter would have been turns up.
Kylo’s approach to Rey also sort of fits in with this. He sees his little sister struggling with parents that can’t help her and offers to help in his own, weird way…
TRoBF goes on to mention how Boba Fett once wore Mandalorian armour and that could connect him to the Knights of Ren:
The Knights of Ren. It is incredibly pertinent to know that the planet Mandalore is still canon, but that “Mandalorian” has not yet once been used in canon so far. The term could now be “Mandaloren” as in Mandeloren Knights. The Knights of Ren. This is further backed by several of the Knights wearing Mandaloren armor.
The name “First Order”. Snoke isn’t trying to bring back the Empire, he’s trying to bring back the first ultimate power the galaxy ever saw and bring it back under Madaloren rule.
Basically, the theory goes on like that forever and there’s only a few big-ish plot holes in it. For one, it’s never stated that Boba Fett is a force user and you have to sort of assume that Snoke is - how would he be able to teach Kylo Ren, otherwise?
Having said that, when Kylo mentions to Hux that the First Order might be better off using a clone army, that alludes nicely to Boba Fett’s parentage.
Along with that, Fett is like one of the most popular Star Wars characters and Disney bloody love a toy sale!
