This Amazing Joker Fanmade Film Is Everything You Wanted ‘Suicide Squad’ To Be

If you’re like every other person in the world (bar a few masochists) you were/ are going to be crazy-underwhelmed by the Suicide Squad.

It promised so much and looked like it would pick DC up after the painfully painful Batman vs Superman but, when it came to it, it was just a big CGI mess with lazy writing, a rushed story and not even nearly enough Joker.

Warner Bros/DC

Despite what you might have heard about Leto’s Joker not being crazy enough, I actually thought he was one of the more glittering beacons of the film. He was pretty cool and, if he went too crazy with the role, everyone would have accused him of copying Heath Ledger. Mind you, all of that method acting lark seemed pretty futile…

But no matter, whether you liked him are hated him, a fantastic Joker-inspired fan film has been made that will definitely quench your thirst for the clown prince of crime. Have a watch and, be warned, it’s pretty dark and pretty gory…

It’s good, right?

It’s just done really well and, when a few fans can do that on a fairly inconsequential budget, you wonder where the likes of Warner Brothers go wrong. The men behind the film, the Hallivis brothers, say that it’s due to the film companies caring more about money than the product, saying they wanted to make “a story that didn’t need to be PG-13 for commercial reasons“.

My only problem is that, while it’s all well and good being sadistic and brooding, it’s not really the Joker, is it? The Laughing Man (named for legal reasons) just seems more like a Hannibal Lecter type character. Keep the film as dark as it already is but, when you’re playing with the Joker, you need to make him laugh like the maniac he is. I swear I only heard one chuckle in that film. Same goes for Harley Quinn. Also more green.

Nice Death of the Family callback, though.
