Mother-In-Law Was Disgusted With Her Daughter’s Fiance In ‘Don’t Tell The Bride’
Mother-in-laws should be seen and not heard, that’s how the phrase goes, isn’t it?
I’m not sure if it’s entirely fair but mother-in-laws do seem to have picked up a kind of Voldemort-y reputation over the years. Sticking their noses in on how parents run bath time, sticking their noses in on how much Peppa Pig vs. Dora The Explorer the kids are watching, sticking their noses in when you want to go clubbing til 6am and leave Betsy and Bianca to look after themselves.
I’m guessing that’s how it is anyway, but no matter how intrusive they may be, I’m sure most MILs have got their hearts in the right place. But the Mother-in-law on Don’t Tell The Bride last night, Debbie, seemed to have come from the other side, from the darker end of the relations spectrum.
Sky OneFirst of all, she just doesn’t really seem to like the groom, telling her daughter, Holly:
“It has all happened so quick, never did I ever think you and Cole would get together. Seriously, I never thought you would. I don’t know him that well really and don’t know how he can cope with things. Absence makes the heart go fonder, you may even change your mind…”
Nothing like a bit of motherly support, eh?
Then she kind of goaded an already upset Holly into crying, once she’d seen the short wedding dress, groom Cole picked out for his Cowboys and Indian themed wedding, saying:
“I am not saying this to upset you. It is a shock. I didn’t imagine this. I just thought it would be long.”
Then to top it all off, she’s even more disappointed when the groom buys only one bottle of champagne and NO FOOD for her daughter’s hen do, but somehow manages to supply all his mates with a drip of Jagerbombs for the night.
Sky OneIt basically sounds like every episode of DTTB, but with a nightmare mum-in-law thrown in the mix. I won’t ruin the whole show for you, as I’m sure you’ll be rushing to catch up, but this girl pretty much summed it up:
Why are the mums such bellends on Don't Tell the Bride

Can you really blame her though, it is her daughter’s special day…
Don’t Tell The Bridge airs every Thursday on Sky One and Now TV at 9pm.
