Here’s Why 5,000 Students Have Been Protesting Gun Laws With Dildos
Back in September of last year, we covered the plans to have a dildo-based protest at the University of Texas after Governer Greg Abbott signed the campus carry bill into law on June 1st 2015.
The bill allows students to carry concealed weapons on campus. So, as long as they have the proper paperwork, they can carry firearms under their clothes, or in their bags on any public campus in the state.
In the state of Texas it is actually legal to openly carry long arms in public (not small handguns), but it is still illegal to do so on campuses.

Gun campaign groups like ‘Concealed Campus‘ use these stats to explain why they should be allowed guns on campus, claiming that being able to carry firearms will allow students to protect themselves from crimes like theft and sexual assault.
A 25-year-old alumna of the University, Jessica Jin, disagrees. She came up with the idea for the dick-related protest when she realised a Texas penal code and the University of Texas (UT) campus policy bans students from displaying ‘obscene’ imagery or items on campus - namely, dildos. So, deadly firearms are allowed but a dildo is banned.
She said:
“The State of Texas has decided that it is not at all obnoxious to allow deadly concealed weapons in classrooms, however it DOES have strict rules about free sexual expression, to protect your innocence. You would receive a citation for taking a DILDO to class before you would get in trouble for taking a gun to class. Heaven forbid the penis.
‘You’re carrying a gun to class? Yeah well I’m carrying a HUGE DILDO.’ Just about as effective at protecting us from sociopathic shooters, but much safer for recreational play.”
The first day of class at the Austin campus of UT witnessed the biggest gun protest that Texas has ever seen, there were over 5,000 students wielding plastic trouser snakes.
The campaign, aptly named ‘Cocks Not Glocks’, saw the students hand out over 5,000 fake willies to students - mostly provided by dildo manufacturers Doc Johnson and Hustler Hollywood.

Rosie Zander, another one of the dildo swinging campaign leaders, argues that the gun violence is an issue that disproportionately affects women. She pointed out to Cosmopolitan that all of the campaign organisers and a lot of the people taking part were women.
“The movement is actually led by women, it’s all women. But the open carry movement is all led by men.”
There were two pretty special male attendees, who juggled dildos for the crowds:
