Extremely Rare Pokemon Causes Stampede In Taiwan

This might look like something out of The Walking Dead, but don’t be fooled: this stampede in Taipei is actually the result of a Snorlax being spotted in the wild.

(A snorlax, for anyone not familiar with Pokemon Go, is a fairly powerful, fairly rare Pokemon that apparently gets people pretty excited).

A whole bunch of players set to chasing the Snorlax, creating a cultural phenomenon that must have been very confusing for anyone unfamiliar with this particular piece of pop culture: the pokestampede:
