11-Year-Old Boy Steals Bus And Joyrides It Around German City

Everyone loves a joyride… well that’s not especially true. You get the sentiment though, right? People like joy, some people like rides. Work with me here.

Speaking of which (smooth) an 11-year-old boy managed to steal a bus in Germany and take it for a joyride, even picking up three people along the way.

He had dreamt of being a bus driver from a young age and had found the keys for the privately owned bus a few weeks before he carried out the deed.

He then spotted the bus in the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt and his desire clearly got the better of him. Having stolen the bus, he then preceded to drive it around the city before managing to pull up at a bus stop and pick up three people.

He was eventually caught out, however, when a man noticed said bus being driven erratically. He then realised how young the person behind the wheel was and, teamed with the damage sustained to the front of the vehicle whilst in transit, he put two and two together and called the authorities.

Police eventually caught up with the child and turned him over to his mother (who was where, by the way?!). That’s when he professed his love for buses… nice.

It seems like he got off pretty easy, to be honest. I remember cutting a hole into a school bus seat by accident when I was 13 and everyone went ballistic at me. I DIDN’T EVEN DRIVE IT OR ANYTHING!

A police spokesperson said on the case:

“Fortunately, the bus ride went without causing major damage to the boy and other road users.”

No one’s really sure what caused the damage to the front of the bus but the investigation is ongoing.
