Players Fuming Over Latest Pokemon Go Update
Niantic just released a load of updates to Pokemon Go, and we can’t exactly say that they’re all welcome…
While letting players re-customise their characters, and allowing them to “lock” their favourite Pokemon (and therefore preventing any accidental transfers) has proven popular, they’ve also got rid of the glitched step counter (instead of fixing it) meaning that there’s no longer any indication of how far away a particular Pokemon might be.
People just have to guess, and they are not thrilled about it:
They've ruined Pokemon Go, how are you meant to catch them when there's no 3 step footprints or pokevision😶😶

I like how Pokemon Go took the "this isn't working… Just get rid of it" route for the nearby step feature

So to fix the "three step glitch" @PokemonGoApp remove the steps all together. How are we supposed to track where he Pokemon are?#pokemongo

Pokemon will be much harder to find since the 3 step is removed. 🤔

It could, however, be worse. In updating the game, a whole lot of people have found their progress wiped, and their game set back to level one:
Updated Pokemon Go, had to reset my account password and now the full game has reset. Absolutely raging. @PokemonGoApp
