Council To Ban Short Shorts and Mini-Skirts Because They’re ‘Disrespectful’
A city that is already planing to ban low-slung trousers on men, is now considering an additional ban on mini-skirts and short shorts.
And that city is Dadeville City in Alabama, U.S. One of their councillors Stephanie Kelly, says any rules on inappropriate fashion should apply to both genders.
‘My concern is it should be for everybody,’ Kelley said of the proposed clothing censorship – probably because she’s expressed how she’s not a fan of ‘dresses that are so short’, nor hotpants that look ‘like undergarments’.
The Dadeville council proposed a ban on saggy trousers – the sort that are slung so low they reveal half the boxers beneath – last month.
At the time, city council member Frank Goodman told the Alex City Outlook that the ban was ‘about respect’.
‘Who is going to respect you if you don’t respect yourself?’ he asked. ‘The reason I brought this up is I think people deserve respect when they are in public.
‘I think slacking is disrespectful. I think it gives our younger generation the wrong impression of what is cool.’
Crikey. Living there would be like being back at school… forever.
